Where has this year gone!!

A year ago at this time I was ready to graduate from high school and wondering what college was like, and now a year later I know. :) There are so many great people that you meet when you come to college. I have made many new friends and strengthened old friendships through theses many months of laughter, funny times, and stress. This year I have learned much from those around me and myself. Classes have ranged from ultra fun and easy to major butt-kickers! I am excited that this year is done and am ready for some summer fun to get me ready for next semester and the trials and experiences that will come with it. Time to just keep keepin on!

Three weeks left!!

This first year of college has definitely been a learning experience, not only scholastically but also in life lessons. The year started quite peachy. I was free and had easy classes with very little homework which allowed for me to enjoy the fun things in college. There have been many movies watch, nights slept on Kim's couch, laughs shared, and activities accomplished. In the Fall we went hiking, and rode bikes everywhere then in the Winter we went sledding at Happyjack and went to the hot springs in Saratoga. I was able to go home for Christmas break which was very enjoyable and relaxing. Soon after break second semester started and with it came mounds of homework, a beater car, and a job. Needless to say I have learned many more life lessons this semester than the previous. From my car I have learned responsibility, independence, and that insurance is good to have. My job has taught me patience and the worth souls as I have been a bus aide for the local school district. With this semester came a heap of stress that I have had to learn to cope with. I have also experienced the disappointment of not always getting things right the first time. However, through it all I have gained lasting friendship and a greater testimony of God's plan for his children. Even though I don't always know why things are happening to me I know that one person does. I feel blessed to have this experience of college and I look forward to the years ahead. Thank you to all who have helped me in this new adventure down this new road of life. :)

Our Epic drive home

As Kim, Tyler and I left beautiful Afton we started out on what would become an epic journey. First we stopped at the local dinosaurs located just outside Cokeville where Kim and Tyler attempted to tame the wild beasts. Afterwards we stopped at some railroad tracks and looked around at the abandoned cars. Tyler climbed on top of one and then we were priviledged to see a actual moving train!! How cool was that! Then we were off to Fossil Butte to see what real fossils look like. We also learned that distant viewing doesn't mean two inches. :) After Fossil Butte, we went to Rock Springs and toured the local Walmart where we had lots of fun with different objects and scenarios. All in all we had an awesome trip!

Life's little Miracles

These past two weeks I have seen God's hand in my life many times. I was involved in two accidents the week of the 14th and there were no injuries, my finances have all worked out and I am still have to drive my car. When I first came upon these trials I was mad at God for making my life so miserable and by and by as the days have come and gone I have come to see the many things that have come from it. I have learned patience, independence and responsibility for my actions. I also learned that life really isn't as bad as I think, I still have friends and a family that love me. This has been quite the learning experience and I hope that I will carry the lessons from it for the rest of my life.

The Beater

Well here it is. The famous beater I have been telling you about. This car came into my possession through a friend who happens to be the driver for the route I ride everyday. He said that I could have it if I put the money into making it start. So, $200 later and I have a running car that can get me from my house to work and back again which is all I want for right now. Although she ( the car) is not much to look at it runs quite well considering how much I and some friends have put into it. I have to admit that driving manual was a new experience, but not as bad as I had anticipated. There are still some bugs to be worked out, but I am hoping that comes with time. Until then..." Robin, to the batmobile!" :)

The adventure of rice

Maybe I should stick to the rice cooker. :) Kim had fun and we all got a laugh out of it. Who knew cooking rice could be so fun?

My Brain is Going to Explode!!

WOW! College is kicking my butt. Whoever thought you could stick so much information in 50 minutes? I sure didn't. This semester I am tackling Calculus 2, General Chemistry 2, Public Speaking and Stats 2050. So far my easiest class would have to be Stats. My most annoying has to be Chemistry because my professor consistently cracks dry jokes that have absolutely nothing to do with the subject. AHHH! It drives me crazy; you can imagine. Then there is Public Speaking. On Tuesday we gave our first speech and I am almost positive that I did mine in 30 seconds or less. What can I say? I was really nervous. Hopefully that changes before the end of the semester or I'll be preparing 15 min speech so I can present for a 5-7 min. Big shocker, right? And then there is the dreaded Calculus 2. Right now I am pretty safe because it is a review from Calculus 1 but when the new material starts rolling in I'm sure I'll be struggling to keep my head above the water. So that's about it for school life. Wish me luck!!

A New Year with new beginnings

Wow! Another year come and gone. It was nice to see 2009 go start with a clean slate for 2010. I was thinking about all that has happened in this past year I began to realize that many changes have been made in my life. At the beginning of the year I finished the last semester of my senior year of high school with all of it activities and friends. Then in the summer I  took the job as main day cook at a local burger joint in town which taught me many lessons of patience and perfection. I was also able to run a few 5k's and attempted a 25k, it was fun to spend time with family and friends doing the thing I love.  As August came I began packing all  of the things that I had accumulated over the last four or so years and prepared to move to Laramie Wyoming where a new chapter in my life would begin. Since coming to Laramie I have learned many lessons about myself and those around me. I have learned that with new knowledge comes new responsibilities and challenges that teach life-lessons.  I look forward to the future with a bright hope of things to come and memories that will last forever!
