Adventures of March

I would like to start first by saying this whole blog thing is really hard for me to remember to do and Jaymie can probably testify; however I will say that I love being able to look at other's blogs and see how life is going. Recently nothing worth writing about has happened but our shower wall downstairs fell off but not to fear, we got this dandy thing called duck tape and fixed it right up. Of course we couldn't get just regular silver duck tape so we got black with poka dots and I really like it. Sarah (my roommate) and I decided that even after the shower is fixed we are going to put duck tape up because it adds color and character to our bathroom :)
Oh! Last week my family and I went on a trip to Nauvoo, Illinois for spring break. We started by flying into St. Louis, Missouri where we attended the Frontenac ward (probably one of the nicest wards I've ever visited). After church we headed to Iowa where the Naview house (where we were staying) resided. The house was beautiful and had a wonderful view. I could wake up in the morning, look out my window and see the Nauvoo temple from across the Mississippi river. The first day being in Iowa I was sick and spent most of the day sleeping while my family ventured into Nauvoo for a few hours. Tuesday I was feeling better so we decided to go to Carthage jail first before proceeding to Nauvoo. Carthage was an interesting experience for me. The spirit was strong but I was almost expecting some huge overwhelming experience where I would just know that everything was true and there would be no doubt in my mind--not that I doubted a lot, just wanted something a little bigger than I got. Anyways, as we got to Nauvoo I was surprised at how simple it looked and the lack of people; however, as soon as I met the senior missionaries I fell in love with Nauvoo and the sweet spirit that emulated there.Tuesday night were able to attend Rendevous in Old Nauvoo, a play by the missionaries, it was food wholesome humour that just made me smile. Wednesday my parents attended a session in the Nauvoo temple and Sydney did baptisms for the dead then she hung with Jared and I in a near-by park. It was a relaxing day that ended with dinner in a park in Keokuk, Iowa. By thursday it was time to head back to St. Louis for one more day of adventures and such. We went to the St. Louis Zoo where we saw lots and lots of animals, some I had never seen or heard of before, but I would have to say my favorite was the hippo. I never realized just how huge they are! Friday was the St. Louis Arch and then plane ride back to good old Denver. Overall I would say it was a good week with a few ups and downs but many memories to remember forever. After spending some time in Nauvoo, I realized I would love to serve a mission there, but I guess we'll see what the Lord has in-store for me. Until another day...

Wow! It's been a long time...

As most of you have noticed, I haven't done the best with keeping my blog updated this past year or so but I plan to do better from here on out...that is, if anyone is still following my blog.
This past year has been filled with many adventures and learning experiences. The most recent adventure was painting the living room, entry and part of the dining room in my house here in Laramie. It went from a light green and light pink to and nice soft khaki color. I like it so much more. Jared is down here now so he helped me get it done with him rolling and me cutting in. Classes will begin on August 22nd and I'm not sure if I will be taking any or just working. I may just be taking a nutrition class but we'll see. Life has been good although a few curve balls have been thrown my way, which is to be expected because we are all mortal :)
Here's a quote that has really helped me. “There are no failures - just experiences and your reactions to them.” Tom Krause

Sad day

Today my best friend left to go back home for the summer :( She has been my support and angel for the past nine months. She has impacted my life in ways she will never really understand. I can't wait until she is back in Laramie!! Miss you Kimberlay!!!
